BEDFORD, PENNSYLVANIA (June 8th, 2018)
Steven Drevicki from Reading, PA found himself in victory lane not only once, but twice tonight at the Bedford Fair Speedway USAC Wingless Double Header.
Drevicki dominated the midget feature. In the sprint car main event, Drevicki showed his strengths moving from the sixth starting position, taking over the second place position on lap 16.
Eddie Strada, who wrecked his primary car in warm ups, took the wings off his winged 360 XXX and gave it another try. Strada redrew the pole position and led every lap of the feature event. However, Strada was light at the scales.
“It’s never great to take a win like that, but we have all been on the good side or the bad side of the rules. It happens to all of us, but we will definitely take it tonight. I am really enjoying this wingless racing,” said Steven Drevicki in victory lane.
Although Strada pulled away from the field, there was a fantastic race for second place the entire race. Chandler Leiby, Steven Drevicki, and Carmen Perrigo were often wheel to wheel battling for position.
The surface was very fast and the top of the race track was where most drivers opted to be. Chandler Leiby attempted many sliders on Drevicki, but with no luck, because of the slick bottom and middle grooves.
USAC East Coast will make their next appearance at New Egypt Speedway on Saturday, July 7th.
