DELMAR, DELAWARE (April 19th, 2018)-
The United States Auto Club East Coast Sprint Cars made their debut at the Delaware International Speedway ½ mile dirt oval on Wednesday, April 18th 2018.
Steven Drevicki of Reading, Pennsylvania took the lead from Mark Bitner on lap one, and lead every lap of the “Battle of the Bay.” After his cage stand and victory lane celebration, Drevicki says, “We looked at the track and took a guess at what it would do, I was just worried about the lines changing. Once I knew I had a decent lead I decided it was time to move down and hold my line.”
After an intense battle for second through fifth position, Eddie Strada of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania took home the runner up spot in his first ever wingless sprint car run. Mark Bitner, Ryan Godown, and Joey Biasi completed the top five.
The series will make their next stop at the Big Diamond Speedway in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Series director Curt Michael wants to thank everyone for their support, “We are thankful to Delaware International for giving us two shows on our schedule, and the teams who made the trip down on a weeknight. We look forward to seeing the rest of our teams next month!”
