Breaking Down The Top 10: 2nd, Briggs Danner

Following a first ever start, and first ever victory for Briggs Danner and the Gallagher Racing team at the end of the 2020 Season, expectations were high for the team as they entered 2021. But, nobody could have expected the amount of success, and the points battle that would occur throughout the 2021 season.

The team picked up exactly where they left off in 2020, picking up the series opening win at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park, and winning three of the first six events of the season, while finishing on the podium in all six opening events.

From there, it was an epic back and forth battle between Danner and eventual Champion Alex Bright, as the two would trade win after win throughout the 2021 series season.

Danner also competed in both USAC National Sprint Car Series, Eastern Tours setting quick time at the Grandview Speedway in April, along with competing heavily for the victory at the Selinsgrove Speedway in June.

Unfortunately during the course of the 2021 season, long time, and legendary car owner Bill Gallgher fell ill and passed away shortly after the completion of Mini Speedweek. The Gallagher family was gracious enough to keep the team going for the remainder of the 2021 season with future plans uncertain for 2022.

Ultimately a long time friend of Gallagher and team crew chief Curt Michael; Michael Heffner stepped up and purchased the team and all assets to keep the team going for the 2022 season.

Coming off of a 2021 season where Danner and team collected twelve heat race wins, twenty top tens, sixteen top fives, nine wins, and a runner up finish in points, look for Danner to be a strong contender yet again for the 2022 title.

An ambitious schedule of over 90 events is planned for Danner, between USAC Speedstr’s, midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, USAC East Coast, and multiple trips to the midwest to compete with the USAC National Sprint Car Series, along with winged 360 and 410 starts are all apart of the recipe for the 20 year old’s sophomore season in a sprint car.
